Obituary of Nancy Lanier Harp
Nancy Lanier Harp, 83 passed to her eternal home April 02, 2023, at her home in Barnesville Georgia; her family was at her bedside.
Nancy was born in Tifton, Georgia on May 27, 1939, to Thomas Henry Tallie Moore and Truman Mae Walker Moore.
Most of her early years were spent at the family home in Jacksonville Beach, Florida where she graduated from Duncan Fletcher. As a young adult with 2 small children, she relocated to Barnesville where she made her home for over 60 years. She worked at various financial institutions eventually retiring as a Vice President of United Bank.
She was a member of Milner Baptist Church where she was an active member until her health began to decline. She enjoyed a variety of activities including reading and gardening , but her passion was working on the family farm on Five Points Road. How she loved her chickens and her goats. Nothing made her happier than huge family gatherings at her beloved farm.
She was preceded by her parents, Tom and Truman Moore, her husband, Robert M. Harp Sr., and a brother, Horace C. Moore.
Nancy is survived by: her children: Debbie Lanier (Coffey), Buddy (Deedra) Lanier, Brock Lanier, and Christie (Chris) Harp Jones; her brother Jere (Debbie) Moore; grandchildren: Chip (Brianna) Coffey, Jim (Erica) Coffey, Jake (Vivi) Coffey, Josh (Mara) Coffey, Maci-Lauren Lanier, Sydney Lanier, Broxton Lanier, Hayley (Nick) Bauch, and Amberly Jones; 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 6-8 Wednesday, April 05, at Williams-Westbury chapel and the funeral is at 11am Thursday, April 06, 2023 at Milner Baptist Church. A burial will follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery.
