Obituary of Josephine Ricks
Mrs. Josephine “Jo” Blackmon Williams Ricks, age 87, was a native of Thomaston and had lived in Barnesville for a number of years before moving to Gordon in 1964 with her husband to open Williams Funeral Home in Gordon and Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville in 1969. She was a licensed Funeral Director and a homemaker, a member of the Eastern Star and past Worthy Matron.
Mrs. Ricks was predeceased by her parents, Jake and Maggie Waldroup Blackmon of the Rock, her husband Earl Ricks. Her Siblings Mozelle Bunn, Mary Lois "Dinah" Sollenberger, Elizabeth Ramsey, W.S. Blackmon, James "John" Blackmon and Claude Blackmon.
Survivors include her Daughters - Brenda Williams of Gordon, and Susan (& Billy) Hester of Barnesville ; Son - Rick (& Donna) Williams of Milledgeville ; Sister - Margaret Nicholson of Barnesville ; Brothers - Tommy (& Audrey) Blackmon and Eugene "Pete" Blackmon of Barnesville ; 6 grandchildren ; & 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Josephine Blackmon Ricks will be conducted Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2 O’Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville on Saturday, October 15th from 1:00pm until the service hour. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Oconee Regional Medical Center, 821 North Cobb Street, Milledgeville, GA 31061
