Obituary of James Cole
Mr. James Edsel Cole, Sr., age 83, of Barnesville passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in a Spalding County Healthcare Facility. Edsel was born August 3, 1926 in Paulding County, as the son of the late Mr. Conn Cole and the late Mrs. Pearl Hollis Cole. Mr. Cole was also preceded in death by a son, Mr. Richard K. Cole.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years - Virginia Sims Cole of Lamar County ; 2 Sons and Daughters-in-law - James Edsel Cole, Jr. and his wife, Jackie, of Lamar County ; Roger Lee Cole and his wife, Dawn, of Lamar County ; 1 Daughter-in-law - Phyllis Cole of Las Vegas, Nevada ; 1 Brother - Rayford E. Cole and his wife, Susan, of Fayetteville ; 1 Sister - Carolyn C. Burrell of Rockmont ; 1 Sister-in-law - Karen Cole of Moultrie ; 8 Grandchildren - Tara & Eric Lopez, Keri & Ben Ford, Kendrick Cole, Kevin Cole, Mike Morris, Amanda & Ed Maddox, Jeremiah Morris, and Jordan Morris ; Great Grandchildren - Zacc & Madyson Maddox and Belen Lopez.
To honor Edsel’s life, a Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 2 O’Clock in the Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Interment will be Private. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
The family has asked, that in lieu of flowers, that Memorial Contributions be made to the Rocky Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, or to The Harvard Medical School Research Dept., Attn: Alzheimer’s Unit, P.O. Box 9306, Big Sandy, TX 75755-9306
