Obituary of Clayton Cagle
Mr. Clayton Eugene “Buddy” Cagle, age 81, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Cagle was born in Upson County to the late Mr. James David Cagle and the late Mrs. Pansy Blackmon Cagle, and was also preceded in death by his Sister, Mrs. Jeanette Cagle Spillers, his Brother, Hollis “Monk” Cagle, his Son, Ricky Eugene Cagle and by his Grandson, Ricky Eugene Cagle Jr. Mr. Cagle was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served from 1951 until 1955.He worked for the Barnesville Police Department, while Tubby Usery was the Police Chief. Mr. Cagle went to work at the William Carter Company where he started his career in about 1971. he drove trucks for about 50 years. His last employment as a truck driver was with JNJ Express. All of his trucking buddies knew him as “Critter”. Mr. Cagle was still actively driving trucks up until his illness. He was a well loved and respected man, on and off of the Big Rig.
Survivors include: Wife – Pam Cagle of Barnesville ; 2 Daughters – Vickie Fossett (& Robert) and Cathy Kunst (& Bill) ; 3 Grandchildren – Adam Fossett (& Tai), Clay Cagle (& Liz) and Brandi Kunst ; Great Grand Children –Max & Ben Fossett, Lexie Welch, Lilly Rose, Brianna & Tyler Cagle, and Ashley Cagle ; Brother - Earl Cagle (& Dee); 2 Sisters – Mary Horne (& Billy) and Sandra Grier (& Jimmy) ; 2 Special Friends – Bobbie Scarborough and Mike Scarborough; and a special Niece and Care Giver - Connie Harper, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral Services for Mr. Clayton Eugene “Buddy” Cagle will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11 O’clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 6p.m. to 8 p.m. Mr. Cagle’s family will be gathering at the home of Mrs. Vickie Fossett following the Memorial Service.
