Obituary of Jaunita Griffin
Mrs. Jaunita Stallings Griffin, age 77, of Barnesville passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010 in a Lamar County Healthcare Facility. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her late husband, Mr. Zachariah Griffin, and is the daughter of the late Mr. Martin Stallings and the late Mrs. Mattie Lizzie Johnson Stallings. Mrs. Griffin was known for the work that she did as a volunteer, and was named “Outstanding Volunteer of the Year” Barnesville and Lamar County – 1993, “Volunteer of the Year” Heritage Inn – 1995 & 2007, “Volunteer of the Year” Georgia Healthcare Association – 2007 and “Volunteer of the Year” Barnesville and Lamar County - 2008. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters – Joanne G. May (& her husband Steve) of Dallas, GA and Mary F. Parham (& her husband Billy) of Tennessee; 3 Grandchildren – Jeffery May of Dallas, Andrew May of Dallas, and Lindsey “Nikki” Jackson; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jaunita Griffin will be conducted on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 2 O’Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 12pm – 2pm.
