Obituary of John Harper
Mr. John Harper, age 95, of Barnesville passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 in a Thomaston Healthcare facility. Mr. Harper was born January 24, 1918 to the late Mr. John Tildon Harper and the late Mrs. Mamie Ophelia Martin Harper. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Edith Marie Meeks Harper. He retired as an aircraft mechanic from Robins Air force Base and was a retired corrections officer from Upson County.
Survivors include his 3 Daughters- Betty Jean Harper Blackston of Thomaston, Mary Ann Harper Brown (& William Darryl) of Thomaston, and Sarah Louise Harper Mathews (& Bobby Julius) of Barnesville: 1 Son- John T. Harper (& Waunda) of Barnesville: 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and numerous Nieces & Nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. John Harper will be conducted Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2 O’ clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Elder Kurt Bacon officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Williams Funeral Home.
