Obituary of William Willis
Mr. William Douglas Willis, Jr., age 65, of Milner passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at his residence. A native of Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Mr. William Douglas Willis, Sr. and Mrs. Nettie Ellen Huddleston Jernigan. Mr. Willis was also preceded in death by his Step-father, Wayne Jernigan, and by a Step-brother, Lee Jernigan. Having served two tours of duty in Vietnam, Mr. Willis was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Willis Retired from Delta Airlines as a Shift Manager in the Load Control Center. He built and flew model airplanes, and was President of The Flying Griffins (Model Airplane Club). Mr. Willis dearly loved his family, especially his two grandsons, whom he helped to care for, and even helped to home school.
Mr. Willis is survived by his wife - Janice Willis of Milner ; His Daughter - Christine Ellington (& Kyle) of Milner ; His Brother - Keith Willis (& Cathy) of Illinois ; 2 Step-Brothers - Scott Jernigan and Mike Jernigan, both of Missouri ; and the light of his life, his 2 Grandsons - Andrew and Carter Ellington, both of Milner.
Funeral Services for Mr. William Douglas Willis, Jr. will be conducted Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11 O’Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will be Private. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 6pm until 8pm.
