Obituary of Linda Marie Derricott
Ms. Linda Marie Derricott, age 73, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. God saw fit to call one of his angels home to her final resting place.
Linda was born on Friday, January 26, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia to late Hazel Ardeen (Thurmond) Mitchell and the late John Wesley Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by niece, Nicole M. Denson; nephew, Mr. Darryl Mitchell; grandson, Mr. D. Javon Williams, and sister Ms. Cherrye D. Mitchel.
Linda graduated from Luther Judson Price High School and received her degree in Business and Accounting from Atlanta Metropolitan College. She held a position as an Accountant for many years but later decided to seek other employment opportunities. She worked with the City of Atlanta Public School System before retiring. She was an avid bowler and bowled with many leagues. She was a baptized and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Linda will be greatly missed by her children
Linda is survived by her children, Dr. Rosalind Derricott (James Steven) Williams and Mr. Anthony Terrell Derricott; sisters, Sister, Mrs. Patrice Mitchell (Weyman) Turner, Mrs. Joyce Mitchell (Douglas) Denson; brothers, Brother, Mr. Frederick (Chandra) Mitchell, Mr. Terry L.(Cynthia) Mitchell; brother-in-law, Mr. Horace H. Derricott; grandchildren, Mrs. Necole Williams (Fred Colbert), Mrs. Keyanna Williams (Anthony) Rice, Mr. Quantico Dodson-Williams, Mr. Anthony Derricott, Mr. Aiden Derricott, Mr. Adrien Derricott; great-grandchildren, Logan James McGhee, Anthony Joel Rice jr., Christian Axl Rice, Quest James Dodson-Williams, Noah James Rice, Emajah Dream Derricott; niece, Ms. Terra A. Mitchell; nephews, Mr. Jaye A. (Keisha) Denson, Mr. Corey Mitchell, Mr. DaRance Mitchell, Mr. Demetrius Mitchell; significant other, Mr. Eric Pope, Lady Williams as well as numerous extended family members, and friends.
A Funeral Service for Ms. Linda Marie Derricott will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke Overcoming Church of God, Griffin, Georgia, with Reverend James Willimas officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Williams-Westbury Funeral, Barnesville, Georgia.
