Mr. James “Jimmy” Redmond Long, age 63, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Jimmy was born on Tuesday, October 31, 1961, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late Jesse Darryl Long and the late Patsy Jane Torbert Dunn, in addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother, Jeffery Taylor, aunt, Mary Latham.

 

Jimmy enjoyed watching baseball and was a Braves and Cubs fan. He liked going treasure hunting, collecting rocks, playing slot machines, playing the lottery, and shopping at Goodwill. He loved and cared for stray animals. In his spare time, he liked drawing and painting. He had a heart of gold, with a free spirit. He loved his nieces and nephews very much, and never forgot a birthday.

 

Jimmy is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Danny (Sunday) Long, sister and brother-in-law, Penny Page and Steve Wren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

A Graveside Service for Mr. James “Jimmy” Redmond Long will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in Greenwood Cemetery, with Pastor David Dawson officiating.
