Obituary of Evelyn Marie Floyd

Mrs. Evelyn Marie Floyd, age 86, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Evelyn was born on Friday, March 11, 1938, in Bloomington, Indiana, to the late Andrew Shipley and the late Dorothy Butcher Hale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Stewart.

Evelyn loved singing songs with her sister Joan, loved spending time with family, cooking, sewing, and going to yard sales to find her treasures. She adored her grandchildren and had a big heart.

Evelyn is survived by her husband; Roland Floyd; son; Jeff Stewart (Cindy); Daughter; Kelly Moye (Tom);daughter-in-law; Valerie Stewart; grandchildren; Thomas Moye (Neve), Lauren Booher (Chris), Alex Moye, Jonathan Moye (Lindsay),Nathan Stewart (Ashley), Ethan Stewart (Sarah), Ivan Stewart (Amber), Jenny Stewart, Joy Raaen (Brian); eleven great-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren on the way; sisters; Joan Love, Rita Crawford, Debbie Coble; brother; Georgie Hale; several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Evelyn Marie Floyd will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Reverend Jason Teal, and Reverend Nathan Stewart officiating. Interment will follow the service in Lamar Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
