Obituary of Charles Chamblee Nimmer
Charles C. Nimmer Jr of Barnesville, Ga passed peacefully at the age of 86 at Brightmoor Hospice care center, Macon Ga on Feb 23, 2024.
Charles was born on January 15, 1938, outside Birmingham, Alabama to the late Bessie Chamberlain Nimmer and Charles C Nimmer Sr of Pleasant Grove, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his one sister, a Mrs. Edna Laverne “Polly” Harris.
Charles was a loving and loyal husband to his wife of 62 years, Jane Nimmer.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jane, his is son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Gina Nimmer, their children, Victoria, Lester and Scott plus great-grandchildren Jacob and Oscar. Also, his daughter, Stephanie and her children, Gabby and Hazel.
Though Charles was a private person, he was well-liked, respected and loved by his family and the community at large. He never met a stranger, and he was always ready with a funny story or a joke to lighten any mood.
Charles was an active member of First Baptist of Barnesville, where he served as an ordained deacon. Charles loved the Lord and was a devout Christian He loved Jesus and did his best to live a life of kindness and strength. He was always the first to step up when someone needed help, and volunteered regularly, helping with anything needed, whether it was maintaining the church grounds, working with the Suppliers Class, or driving the Compassion Care Vehicle.
Charles served with Honor in the U.S Air Force, Air National Guard. He spent time serving overseas during that time. For more than 40 years, Charles had a successful accounting firm. He supplied accounting services for many individuals and small, family-owned businesses all around the Greater Metro Atlanta area. His clients were loyal to the end, as he was always known as an honest and respectable man.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Charles C. Nimmer, Jr. will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Reverend Garth Forster, Reverend Jason Teal, and Reverend Tom Daugherty officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the church.
