Mr. Harold Ray Blevins, age 84, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at his home.
Harold was born on Wednesday, October 12, 1938, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to the late Luther James Blevins and the late Lydia Easter Blackburn Blevins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores H. Blevins; as well as one granddaughter, Mikayla S. Singletary. Affectionately known as “Pop”, Harold became a fireman for the City of Barnesville in 1965 until he retired in 1993. He became captain and in 1973 became Fire Chief where he served the community of Barnesville. He also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf as well as fishing. He loved cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats.
Harold is survived by his children and their spouses, Sharen L. Singletary, Debra A. Mathis, Cindy D. Blevins, Michael S. Blevins (Shelly); 5 Grandchildren; several Great-Grandchildren; as well as one brother, James Blevins.
There will be no formal services held at this time.
