Obituary of Robert Eugene Washington, Sr.

Mr. Robert Eugene Washington, Sr., age 91, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Robert was born on Monday, August 17, 1931, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late George M. Washington and the late Ida Mae Hamilton Washington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brownie Valesta Vaughn Washington. Robert was member of First Baptist Church of Barnesville. He loved being outdoors and cutting his grass. Robert enjoyed talking to people and loved being with his family; especially his time getting peach ice cream with his granddaughter, Kimberly at Dickey Farms.

Robert is survived by his son and spouse; Bob & Connie Washington; grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly & Tim Smith, Brent & Lisa Washington; great-grandchildren, Holden Smith, Jake Smith, Brook Washington, Madison Washington; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mr. Robert Eugene Washington, Sr., will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 11:00A.M. at The First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Reverend Garth Forster and Reverend Jason Teal officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the church. Interment will follow the service at Lamar Memory Gardens.
