Obituary of Willis Rainey Marable
Mr. Willis Rainey Marable, age 88, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Rainey was born on Saturday, March 3, 1934, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late Robert Marable and to the late Mary Jane Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy Sealock Marable; son, Jeffery Glenn Marable; sister, Rubye Johnson (Marcus). Rainey proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he retired after 20 years of service. While in the military, he earned the title of Master Sergeant. He enjoyed going to yard sales as well as playing bingo. He enjoyed it so much, he became the caller of bingo at Sunny Grove Assisted Living.
Rainey is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Missy Marable Parker & Tim Parker of Barnesville; grandsons, Blane Parker, and Scott Parker both of Barnesville; brother-in-law, Larry Sealock (Wanda) of Barnesville; sister-in-law, Theora Reynolds of Thomaston; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Willis Rainey Marable will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at The First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Reverend Garth Forster & Reverend Jason Teal officiating. Interment will follow the service in Lamar Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Generations Following Fund at The First Baptist Church of Barnesville 200 Zebulon Street, Barnesville, Georgia 30204.
