Obituary of Waunda Lee Sollenberger Harper
Mrs. Waunda Lee Sollenberger Harper, age 78, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Waunda was born on Wednesday, January 5, 1944, in Lamar County, Georgia, to the late James Alva Sollenberger and the late Mary Lois Blackmon. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Ann Harper. Waunda graduated from Yatesville High School. She worked for Lamar County DFAC’s for 30 years. She loved her church; she was a member of the women’s auxiliary and women’s bible study. In her spare time, Waunda sent cards to anyone who was feeling down. She met everyone with a hug and was known as a good listener. She enjoyed reading cookbooks and was an avid writer.
Waunda is survived by her loving husband, John Harper, Sr.; son, John Harper, Jr.; grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew Selsor, Marley Selsor, Kaydence Sizemore, Garrison Sizemore, Chief Petty Officer Eric Selsor & wife Taylor Selsor, Katie Sizemore & husband, Chief Petty Officer Garrett Sizemore; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie Jo & Bentley Clemons, Sandra & Pete Baugh; 7 nephews and 5 nieces also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Waunda Lee Sollenberger Harper will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Kurt Bacon, Elder Pat McCoy and Mr. Horace Pippin officiating. The family will greet friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made by check to Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Ukraine Missions 1274 Ramah Church Road, Barnesville, Ga 30204, in honor of Mrs. Waunda Harper.
