It's hard to believe that Donnie is longer with us. Here it is the spring and we would always try and plan a short ride or two depending on our work schedules. He was a great guy. We didn't see each other often but when we did, we picked right up where we left off. Last time I seen him he was buying dog food. We chatted for about 30 minutes or so. Hope your enjoying the road therapy in Heaven bro.

To Georgianne and Family,
I was A younger Neighbor of Donnie when he moved to Fairburn. He was a high School senior on the Campbell Bears and had the coolest car which was a loud 1973 Firebird Esprit. Donnie was my hero as he was not embarrassed to haul around an eight grader playing 8th grade football home from practice. Hanging with Donnie made me feel that I had “Arrived”
Donnie Graduated and All I knew was that he became a cop somewhere. He fit the mold!
Years later I ran into him at Campbell for a retirement party for a mutual teacher, Mr West.
I great reunion where I told him I was a cop in Texas. He mentioned Chris to me. I could tell he was a fantastic father.
I drive the old neighborhood in Fairburn when I make it around and always remembered the class act Donnie Raiford as I pass the house where he lived with his mother and Mr Norris.

So sorry to hear of Donnie's passing! I was a year ahead of him in school and he was my teammate on Forest Park High School Football team! He was a very nice guy and we were friends. He had alot of friends and always willing to help whomever he could! RIP fellow teammate!

Donnie and I were always in the same home room together at school. He was kind and always a gentleman even way back then. He looks just the same to in the face and I know heaven is a better place with Donnie on the way! Love to the family.

I’m so sorry to hear this. What a beautiful tribute to your father! I graduated with Donnie from Campbell High School in 1979. I remember a guy who was ALWAYS kind. It might not have been the last time I saw him because I believe he came to our 20 yr reunion, but I remember an encounter about this time of year 1993. I was pulled over for speeding one Friday or Saturday night in Forest Park. While I was sitting in my car, who showed up at my window but Donnie. I believe he heard my name on the police radio and drove to the “scene of the crime.” Not only did I drive away that night without a speeding ticket, I got to spend 10–15 minutes catching up with an old friend and very sweet man. May your love for him and your memories sustain you in the days, weeks, months and years to come. Grief is the price we pay for great love! ❤️

I was privileged to work with Donnie for the past 18 years. I was a police detective who learned a lot about the banking business from my friend Donnie. He always had time to answer questions or help me with a case.
His work ethic and dedication was amazing... I was a horse person as well and we always found the time to talk about his horse. This was such a huge loss for so many ... he will be missed.
