Obituary of Janice A. Newman Young

Mrs. Janice A. Newman Young, age 76, of Milner, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Janice was born on Wednesday, June 10, 1942 in Tellico Plains, Tennessee to the late Val Houston Newman and the late Veanie Belle Ryder Newman. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Jamila “Tootie” Burgess. Janice retired from BellSouth as an engineering clerk. She loved gardening, traveling, hummingbirds, and Cody, Wyoming was her special place. Janice enjoyed square dancing and loved going to the beach with her grandkids. She loved her family and grandkids dearly.

Janice is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lowell Young; children, Kent Young, Sonya Dyer (Mack), and Barbara Ann Matthews (Chris); grandchildren, Dean Matthews (Melissa), Nikki Matthews, Mackenzie Dyer, and Noah Dyer; great-grandson, Shane Matthews; brother, Jack Newman (Norma Ann) and Jim Newman.  

A memorial service for Mrs. Janice Young will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jason Teal officiating. Friends may visit the family at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until the service hour.
