Obituary of George Russell Crane

Mr. George Russell Crane, Sr., age 62, of Milner, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at his home. Mr. Crane was born January 31, 1953 in Atlanta, son of Birdie Johnson and the late George Crane. He was a truck driver for Pemberton Truck Lines, owned and operated a lawn mower repair shop and was a locksmith. He loved his family and enjoyed going to the Peachtree Peddlers Flea Market in McDonough every weekend. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Angela Crane of Milner; children and their spouses, Tonya and Jason Sharpton of Barnesville, Cindy and Jerry Williams of Eatonton, and Roger “Bubba” and Rachel Samples of Milner; 7 grandchildren, Logan, Lance and Anslee Sharpton, Blake McDaniel, Jared Williams, and Khloe and Kason Samples; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Tim and Pam Johnson, Cindy and Willard Stinwinter, Darren and Dianne Stephens, Brenda Stith, Tony and Louise Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Troyce Johnson, and Angela and Mark Goodsir; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, George Russell Crane, Jr. and a granddaughter, Kinsley Samples. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday at Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ryan Christopher officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Campground Cemetery in Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the George Russell Crane, Sr. Memorial Fund at United Bank.
