Obituary of Floyd McLeod

Mr. Floyd McLeod, age 86, of Barnesville, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015, at Westbury Medical Care Home in Jackson. Mr. McLeod was born September 16, 1929 in Chester, Georgia, son of the late Ivey and Annabell McLeod. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at the First United Methodist Church in Eastman, Georgia. Mr. McLeod retired from Civil Service at Warner Robins Air Base and he loved woodworking. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Japan. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sara McLeod; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Janice McLeod, all of Barnesville; daughter and son-in-law, Harriett and John Laurence of Forsyth; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Eleanor and Brandon Powell of Albany, NY; two grandsons, Alan McLeod of Colonie, NY and Devin Laurence of Fallon, NV; three great-grandchildren, Helen Powell, William Powell and Sarah Powell; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Lin McDowell of Milan, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Breedlove Memorial Chapel this Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00. In-lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that contributions be made in memory of Mr. Floyd McLeod to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
