Obituary of Arthur Nicholson

Mr. Arthur (Art) Nicholson, age 64, of Barnesville, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Emory University Hospital in Decatur. Mr. Nicholson was born December 17, 1951, son of Mamie Ruth Nicholson of Valdosta, and the late Lewis Hall Nicholson. He was a retired truck driver from Low Temp Industries. Mr. Nicholson loved his family and watching his granddaughter, Kaylah, play soccer. He enjoyed going to Biloxi, Mississippi, and riding his trike. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 43 years, Peggy Nicholson; daughters, Kimberly Nicholson and Kelly Grammer (fiance’ Chad Littlejohn); granddaughter, Kaylah Grammer, all of Barnesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia Brown and Fay and Arthur Roark all off Valdosta and Sue and James Smith of Nashville, GA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Hall Nicholson. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 Friday at Breedlove Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Kelly Grammer, at 197 Evergreen North and receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
