Obituary of Robert Carey Fogarty

Mr. Robert Carey Fogarty, 46, of Barnesville, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at his home. Carey was born October 26, 1968 in Griffin, son of Robert L. Fogarty and the late Linda McBroom Fogarty. He was a member of First Baptist Church and attended Open Arms Baptist Church in Zebulon. Carey was a member of the Pinta Lodge #88 Free and Accepted Masons. He was an investigator with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office and also served as a firefighter and arson investigator for the Lamar County Fire Department having been the first paid firefighter in the county. Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Stephanie Worley Fogarty; daughter, Lauren Taylor Fogarty; son, Travis Dalton Fogarty, all of Barnesville; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; mother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece and nephew. Funeral services will be at 2:00 Friday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Garth Forster and Rev. Terry Ison officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will be at the home of his father, and receive friends at Breedlove Memorial Chapel Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
