Obituary of Martha Griffin

Ms. Martha Lorraine Griffin, age 78, of Lawrenceville and formerly of Barnesville, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 in a Lawrenceville Healthcare Facility. Ms. Griffin was born in Barnesville to the late Mr. Zachriah Lafayette Griffin and the late Mrs. Mary Taylor Griffin. She was a Veteran, having served 12 years in the United States Air Force. Ms. Griffin worked with the Social Security Administration for 27 years. She was a member of the Second Ponce De Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta. Ms. Griffin was preceded in death by her Brothers, Mr. John L. Griffin, Mr. Z. L. Griffin, Mr. Pete Griffin, and by her Sisters, Mrs. Hazel M. Roquemore, & Mrs. Avalene Irwin. Survivors include her Sisters-in-Law – Mrs. Lennea Griffin of Valdosta ; & Mrs. Vera Lane Griffin of Greenville, SC ; and 14 Nieces and Nephews Funeral Services for Ms. Martha Lorraine Griffin will be conducted on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11 O’Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 6pm until 8pm, and on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 10 O’Clock until the service hour.
